Resolved to Land a Tech Job in 2026? Start Your Journey in 2025
By The Fullstack Academy Team

It’s the holiday season.
For many, that means the annual arch of time off, celebration, and then a “reality reset” at the beginning of the new year. January offers the opportunity for a lifestyle reset—with healthy eating, increased physical activity, and better time management among the most popular choices for New Year's resolutions. However, over 90% of people never follow through on their resolutions.
If you’re resolving to launch your tech career in 2026, you may be asking yourself these questions:
Is my career on track?
Am I being appropriately challenged and rewarded in my existing job?
The whole economy is pivoting to tech—am I being left behind?
Pursuing online tech training with Emory Tech Bootcamps, in collaboration with Fullstack Academy, may well be the best answer. Don’t wait until January to start your New Year’s resolution. If you’re considering an upcoming bootcamp, here are compelling reasons you should begin your tech training this December instead.
The Drawbacks of Waiting
If you know that you want to build your skills so that you can launch or accelerate your career in tech but are putting it off until next year, you are both delaying the desired outcome (new skills that will help make you job-ready) and increasing the risk that you’ll talk yourself out of it in the future.
Getting started with a goal is the hardest part, but your future self will thank you! Remember: the sooner you start, the sooner you can realize your goal.
If you are feeling overwhelmed or stuck—a common response to a big change!—there are tips to help overcome procrastination so you can avoid the drawbacks of waiting to tackle your goals and aspirations.
Beat the Rush
Every year, the training industry experiences a seasonal surge of learners in the first quarter. Some classes sell out quickly, while others reach the maximum capacity. Conversely, November and December have some of the lowest enrollment rates of the year. Smaller classes provide more opportunities for one-on-one interaction, tutoring, and career coaching. In addition, you’re likely to be part of a smaller graduate cohort, all job hunting at the same time, with slightly less competition in the market from other cohorts that haven’t graduated yet.
Financial Benefits
Many work-related education expenses are only tax-deductible if that training improves skills needed for your present work and/or is necessary to maintain your job. However, there are several exceptions for securing a tax deduction for your tech education that you might qualify for. Be sure to check with your accountant or a qualified tax professional.
Get Started in 2025
In addition to any potential tax savings, aspiring tech professionals enrolling in an eligible Emory tech bootcamp in December 2025 can save up to $3,000 off the regular tuition price. Submit the online application to start making your “new tech job in 2026” New Year’s resolution a reality.
