How the Emory Data Analytics Bootcamp Works

The Emory Data Analytics Bootcamp is designed for students to pursue high-quality tech education while continuing to balance other commitments. Our part-time program provides the flexibility to fit career development into your life.

Bootcamp classes combine live online instruction with group and independent active learning challenges—all facilitated by industry-experienced professionals.

  • All classes are held weekly on on Tuesday and Thursday.

    • 7:30pm-10:30pm ET

In addition to classroom lessons, part-time students can anticipate spending 6-8 hours studying and working on outside assignments each week.

You’ll build your capstone project using the 5 core data tools used in the program (Excel, SQL, AWS Glue, Tableau, and Python), and apply them toward finding practical data solutions for real business challenges.

Following graduation, you can use this project to form the basis of your portfolio to demonstrate your skills to prospective employers.

  • Yes, the Emory Data Analytics Bootcamp is beginner-friendly. It’s specifically designed for students of all starting skill levels. While some background knowledge is helpful, the only expectation is that students have general computer literacy skills in basics like efficiently using the Internet/cloud and Windows.

  • Your time with our career success team will include everything from workshops to one-on-one office hours to phone chats before big interviews. Alumni will also have access to a job board and have the opportunity to be connected with companies and organizations in our Employer Partner Network that are actively seeking qualified candidates.

  • To be eligible for the program, you must be at least 18 years old and a high school grad/GED holder by the start date of your intended cohort.

  • No, Emory Tech Bootcamps are not for credit and cannot be applied toward a degree or certificate program. Rather, they’re offered through Emory University Continuing Education and facilitated by Fullstack Academy instructors and staff to provide in-demand tech skills training for current or prospective tech professionals.

  • Part-time students often continue working full-time while completing the bootcamp. Each week, students can expect to spend 9 hours in class and another 6-8 hours studying and completing assignments outside of class.
