How the Bootcamp Works

The Emory Coding Bootcamp is designed for students to pursue high-quality tech education while continuing to balance work or other commitments. Our program provides you with the flexibility to fit career development into your life.

  • All bootcamp classes are instructor-led and taught 100% online.

  • Multiple class times are offered so you can choose which option works best with your schedule.

Part-time and full-time bootcamp programs are available.

  • Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

    You can choose which class time works best for you during the application process.

    • 9:30am-12:30pm ET
    • 6:30pm-9:30pm ET
    • 7:30pm-10:30pm ET
    • 8:30pm-11:30pm ET
  • Classes are held Monday-Friday.

    • 9:30am-3:30pm ET

Tuition

We aim to ensure that every applicant, regardless of budget, has the opportunity to break into a career in web development.

There are many ways to pay for your bootcamp experience including self-pay, employer-pay, government assistance, scholarships and personal loans. Learn more about payment options.

  • Emory is committed to making tech education more accessible, so we’re reducing the enrollment deposit to $99* (normally $1,000) for a limited time. Get started on your journey before the deposit increases!

    *Offer eligibility: Upon admittance into the program, pay the $99 refundable deposit in full prior to the enrollment date.

  • 10% Community Discount

    For Emory University Staff/Faculty/Alumni, Emory Healthcare employees, and employees of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

    $1,000 Military Scholarship

    For active-duty service members and military veterans (valid ID required).

    $1,000 Residential Scholarship

    Residents of the state of Georgia may be eligible for a $1,000 scholarship towards the cost of an Emory Tech Bootcamp program.


FAQs

  • The coding curriculum is broken down into three main areas:
    1. Web Foundations (Responsive CSS, Data Types, Looping, etc.);
    2. Front-End Development (AJAX, React, Intro to APIs, etc.);
    and 3. Back-End & Fullstack Development (Node, Express, SQL, etc.).

    Grads of the Emory Coding Bootcamp learn the skills they need to be qualified for entry-level roles like Junior Software Engineer and Front-End Developer.

  • Many of our part-time students are working full time while taking the program. Keep in mind that there are 10 hours in class and 15-20 hours worth of homework per week.

  • Yes, the Emory Coding Bootcamp is beginner-friendly. It’s specifically designed for professionals who have no previous experience in coding. While some background knowledge is helpful, the only expectation is that students have general computer literacy skills in basics like efficiently using the internet/cloud and Windows.

  • Your time with our career success team will include everything from workshops to one-on-one office hours to phone chats before big interviews. And on top of all that, the team will be working behind the scenes to find openings that are right for you and staying up-to-date on the latest recruiting trends to make sure they prepare you for everything.

  • To be eligible for the program, you must be at least 18 years old and a high school grad/GED holder by the start date of your intended cohort.

  • Complete the application, take the assessment (~30 minutes), and receive a decision. At any point in the process, you can also schedule a time to speak with one of our Student Advisors who can walk you through the process and answer your questions.

  • Graduates earn a certificate of completion issued by Emory University and Fullstack Academy.
